Meet our team of talented technicians.
Abel is one of our technicians. He has worked at Advance Auto as a commercial parts pro as well as Sunoco as a class B technician. He started out in the IT field, but quickly realized that he was more interested in the automotive industry, In his free time he enjoys hunting, fishing and playing pool. Every month he looks forward to his his brother visiting from Ohio so he can spend time with him playing pool and watching movies.
He is 23 years old and moved to Raleigh from California about a year ago. He has a loving family with a wife and four children. Some of his passions include working on vehicles and making them unique. He wants to pursue a career that involves painting. Most of his life, he has been detailing vehicles and has loved making every car shine and come back to life.
Angel is from Cary. He comes from a large family and is close with all four of his siblings. He started in the construction industry but has enjoyed working on cars in his spare time. He recently joined with Rimguard and we are proud to have him on our team.
Ashley is originally from Fayetteville, NC. He graduated from high school in 1995. He has been happily married since 2003 to Malia, who is also a vital part of our business. In 2007 they welcomed their daughter Ayden into the world, and in 2015, they welcomed their son Austin. Ashley enjoys most outdoor activities; some of his favorite activities are: snowboarding, wake boarding, basketball, gardening, traveling with family, and boating. He has been in the auto reconditioning industry servicing Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill since 1996. He entered into wheel repair in 2003 and has continued to research and develop top of the line repair methods. He has also incorporated new technology to provide more services to our customers, including Powder Coating, CNC Lathe Machining, and Brake Calipers. He has a passion for owning and operating an honest and ethical business. Most of his time is spent growing our business and improving on it each and everyday. Having a great team is vital to our growth and success as a rim repair company. The team members below are the reason we are able to provide a quality service. Caleb is one of our field techniains. He is a North Carolina native, born in Clayton. In the past he worked at Plant Partners and Discount ATV & Repair before switching to Rimguard in 2013. He got his Associates degree at Wake Tech, as well as certifications in BioWorks and EPA & FDA Regulation. In his spare time he enjoys working on cars, going to car shows and Kart racing. He also enjoys trying new restaurants and spending time with friends and family.
David has been working for Rimguard for 2 years. He graduated from Garner High School in 2012. When he is not working, he enjoys watching basketball, soccer, and football. He is a Duke basketball fan.
Frank is originally from New York, where he spent the last 20 years working as an auto body restoration specialist. He also has extensive knowledge in vinyl wraps and diesel mechanics. Frank enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He also has a passion for marine reef tank keeping.
Heather’s background is in sales and management. God is first place in her life and her family is a close second. She loves to sing, watch TV, and fish. Fishing is the only time in her life where she is quiet. She enjoys meeting new people and helping those around her.
Jack has a BA in History, but has spent most of his career in the auto detailing industry. He is married and has two incredible daughters. He has recently joined our team and will be assisting in wheel repair as well as helping in the office with customer service. We’re happy to have him on our team.
Jessica has been in the administrative field since she was in high school. She started out with her family’s advertising agency, and has stayed in a service industry ever since. This is her first time working in the automotive industry, but she has always been interested in classic American muscle cars. In her free time, she likes to take her dogs to the park and spend time with her family and friends.
Joey moved here from New Jersey. He has always had a love for cars (muscle in particular). Which led himto major in auto body at his Technicial High School. He has been doing body work ever since. He was a collision technician for five years, where he acquired most of my skills. He is also an I-Car Platinum Certified Non-Structural Auto Body Technician and I-Car Welding Certified. He is a horror film, punk rock, and pizza enthusiast who is absolutely in love with his family. He and his wife have a baby boy and another on the way. He loves to clown around and just spend time with them whether at home or checking out venues, etc.
John has lived in Raleigh most of his life until he moved to Wake Forest in 2003. He has 3 sons: Josh, Bryan, and Sean. They spend a lot of spare time riding 4 wheelers, going to the park, grilling out and spending time with friends and family. He also builds custom show cars in his spare time. He has spent most his life around cars or working on them. He was an assistant manager at a custom wheel and tire shop for 8 years, where he became Hunter Certified for all Hunter Equipment. He also was a shop foreman at a custom car shop for 4 years where he was a lead fabricator building custom cars, trucks and motorcycles. He also became PPG Blue Certified for PPG’s line of refinishing paint systems and products.
John’s knowledge of tires, wheels, painting, and cars made John a natural fit for our business. John has been a dedicated team member from day one. John serves our Raleigh Shop Location and we are excited to work with John!
Jorge “Chui” Yepez
He is originally from Burlington NC but moved to the Raleigh area in 2011. Moving here gave him the opportunity of expanding his automotive career by working at a repair shop as a general maintenance tech for a few years. He started with auto detailing, and then eventually learned the skill of auto upholstery. He has also been involved in the restoration of a few classic cars from the ground-up. He has always had a passion for cars and it’s something that He has shared with his 3 sons and wife. His family has a love for classics as he does. They spend most of their free time going to the park, museums, sight-seeing, and going to car shows throughout the year.
Paul joined us at Rimguard in April of 2010 as a mobile wheel technician, serving the Cary area. In June of 2013, he accepted a position as Rimguard’s Director of Operations. Paul graduated from Nashville Auto Diesel College with a degree in Auto Paint and Body Technology. He is Sherwin-Williams, Dupont and PPG Certified. Paul brings 19 years of experience to the company.
